ok ok, my blog's stagnant for quite some time huh...
by popular demand i shall post something here now... hahaha.

actually i'm at work now, at transit 2.
so i'm reporting live from the airport..
and i'm itching to know what happens next!!!!!
arggghh!!!. hahaha.

5 japs came to my counter asking for brisbane airport's tel no.
i was like "??? for wat??" on the inside.
so i checked out their number on their website and gave it to them.
then they asked if i could call brisbane airport for them, cos their english is not good.
but i cant make international call here! i'll be shot dead by STB if i use the phone for international.. or at least i thought so... hahah.
she lost her camera at brisbane airport and wants to know if anyone (hopefully) found it.

anw, b4 calling, i tried looking to see if a jap guide was on duty tonight.
but apparently none!!
so i tried asking CAAS counter for help and they didnt have a jap speaker on duty now as well..
in the end i went to SIA counter for help, cos they flew in with SIA..
after i referred them there and went back to my counter, I'M ITCHING TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AFTER I LEFT!!!! hahahaha.

did they find her camera??
will they come back and tell me?? haha.
i hope they will, very curious to know!!!
well, i'm kinda bored here..

coming to rantings, THE NEW TOURIST PASS SUCKSSSSSSSSSSS BIGGG TIME!!!!
it's actually a transport pass tourist can buy for unlimited rides within the day.
cost $8 for one day, but there's a $10 refundable deposit on the card..
therefore initial start-up cost = $18. haha.

the problem with the pass is, THOSE DAMN MRT STATION STAFF TELL THE TOURIST TO COME TO OUR COUNTER FOR THE REFUND!!
HOW ABSURD???!!

reason being: changi airport station ticket office operates from 1200 - 1930.
after 1930, they cant get their refund from the airport.

so what is the MRT control station for?

FOR THOSE FAT AND LAZY AND IRRESPONSIBLE STAFF TO DIRECT TOURIST TO THE WRONG PLACE AND FIND THAT THEY CAN'T GET THE REFUND AND MAKE THEm FURIOUS AND TAKE IT OUT ON OUR STAFF (@SVC)!

really shit them!
haha.
what are they good for?
why can't tourist get their refund from the control station?
wouldn't that be easier and quicker and happier?
we don't even handle cash at our counter!
and how many complains will it take b4 the MRT control staff realise that tourist cant get refund from us?
it's been happening for more than a week and many tourists are unhappy, so are the staff working at SVC.

apart from that, where is our supervisor?
happily hiding in the transit area and not outside handling the tourists.
happened many times.
honestly i'm quite disappointed.

QUOTE FROM TAMI'S BLOG:

"Yesterday while working something very unpleasant occurred. 3 tourists came to our counter to return the Spore tourist pass. (It’s a shit pass I'll tell you) I'm happened to be the suay one to serve them. Anw called up Louis, cos he is the only STB staff on duty, to check if I can pay them first. Else if I pay then don't get back money how?! So Louis said don give them any money and give them opinion from to fill out and STB will get back to them. Also to give them the Tourist Pass brochure so that the tourists can call. (I tried calling tourists helpline but no one picked the other one I didn't try.) So when I told the tourists that they said its bullshit. Wth. Then carnie asked their boarding time then say better board the plane else they miss it. Then the guy said "Yea it’s pretty convenient huh" sarcastic.

Then LHC told them that one of them accompany him to the MRT and ask who is the guy who asks them to come up here. Then he used his own money to pay them first (even though I said Louis say don pay) then ask tourists fill up complaint form. Then he went to the MRT with one of the guys. In total there were 10 cards, 7 complaint forms. 1 of the cards the tourists took it with him but he filled up complaint form. Then Louis came down. Then when LHC told him what he did, Louis flared up. He said why you never listen to instructions?

Louis: If you're not happy working here, then don work

LHC: Fine I will hand in my resignation tomorrow!

Louis: Don't need tomorrow. Just give one wk notice. Don't tell me, tell Anthony.

LHC: Fine!

Me: STUNNED Wth! All because of the Pass, he quit!!

LHC trying to help and then Louis not only never sympathise, he just hide inside transit. Took him abt 1 hr to come to arrival from transit! Then come out show temper at LHC. Wth is wrong with Louis? After that all of us no mood to work liao...
I think the upper management really should know how this stupid scheme is affecting the front liners. All these problems started because of some people who are obviously not in the front line, making poor decisions, planning, procedures and pathetic communication. I'm willing to bet that the MRT personnel also has no idea what trouble they give us every time they sent a passenger up. Everybody seems to shift the blame. Even louis. All he does is hide and let us handle the situation, and getting insulted along the way.
"

disappointed with louis.
how can a staff be happy when it is always them who face angry tourists?
how can a staff be happy when the boss doesnt sympathise and hide when trouble comes?
how can a boss sympathise when he hasn't met with the same situation before?
how can louis say "If you're not happy working here, then don work" so easliy?
LHC was trying to help, and at the very least calm the tourist down.
louis? hide in transit and only give useless instructions and expect people to follow.

service standards of singapore is really really very low and lousy.
we always say we want to impress tourists, go the extra mile blah blah blah.
but what do we do here?
CC (Cover Cacheng) and BCC (Better Cover Cacheng)!
very few people here are setting a good example.
even i myself is a victim of CC and BCC.

'My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry' James 1:19

i've been very slow to listen, quick to speak and quick to become angry. haha.
just the total opposite!

when i start doing things that i've been doing for many times, i become too quick to speak.
especially while working.
i've been explaining the free singapore tour and all for a million times and even before the tourist say what he wants to say, i've already cut in to explain directly.
although there seems to be nothing wrong, it is wrong.
it is just wrong to cut off someone who is speaking halfway through.
i wouldn't want that if i'm the one who is doing the query.
sucks to get cut off halfway..
my job at SVC is not just to tell provide information, but also to listen to what the tourist wants no matter how difficult they can be.
some will really piss you off but you still have to swallow it down.
tough job huh? haha.

alright! it's been sometime since i've last blogged!
so i'm back here again! haha.

SILVER
first and foremost, i've passed my napfa!!! ho ho ho!
thanks to all who have prayed for me and encouraged me just moments before i began the 2.4km run!
confidence and faith is very important.
the night before napfa, i was having worship practice.
and i shared that i had already taken off days on both fri and following mon, preparing to book napfa test on both days.
however, daniel said: "why you book monday also? why you so faithless so fast prepare to take again on monday?"
hahaha. yes, i laughed, everyone laughed.
well, sometimes it's good to have a plan B.
but NO!!!
it showed that i have no confidence and i am not trying hard enough.
most importantly, it showed that i have not been praying hard enough for my napfa test and absolutely zero faith!

so i ran the 2.4km with faith and determination, eyes fixed on Jesus running until i can't feel my legs and as though they weren't one with the body.
the whole body was a battlefield!
bottom sending messages to top to say "wah sian, damn tired! walk leh!" while top send messages to bottom saying "keep running running running don't walk or stop, nearing the finishing line!!!!! PRESS ON!!!"
hahahah.
yes ok, lame...................whatever..........

LOVELY WEATHER
i'm really loving the weather nowadays!
it's nice and cool and not hot most of the time.
i love it!
the decorations, promotions and atmosphere at the airport made me really really looking forward to Christmas!!
i want to enjoy Christmas in a country where there is snow and coniferous trees! hahaha.
i want to wear winter clothings and catch the snow with my hands!

or maybe, Christmas now is too commercialised..
i wonder which smart ass thought of santa claus and the dumb elves and reindeer.
it has really made everyone missed the point of Christmas!
yes, it is a season of giving and a season of joy, but using santa claus to advertise is just so wrong.
marketing line says 'JOY TO THE WORLD!', but you see santa claus as the mascot. haha!
ok, i only have something against santa claus (not agianst the decorations n trees) because he has never ever given me anything!
he's just a fat bastard in some moronic idiot's fantasy. lol

RECENTLY EXPOSED TO . . .
gosh, pamela!!! hahah.
she is showing everyone her passion!
recently, i've been constantly exposed to mana from moi dix mois!
it's a jap visual kei band.
i've not been exposed to much of their music style, but rather their dressing style. hahaha.
it's like gothic! and mana loves to dress up and pose as a girl.

the above 3 pictures are all the same person: MANA.
hahahahaha.
after working with pamela, i've learnt so much about jap fan stuff!
they have things like fanfic..
where fans write about their fav artist being gay with another artist.
e.g. mana and kei (guitarist from moi dix mois) being gay with each other.
haha! the thought of it is yuck!
but people like, and their fans like to read about all these stuffs.. lol.
so it's a weird world out there!

i cant imagine if i read something about hyde, ken, tetsu n yukihiro being gay to each other! hahah. though i guess there should be stuff like that out there?
i don't know, and don't want to know . . . though i've heard some things about hyde and gackt. hahaha.

ON MY WISHLIST
i want to buy l'arc~en~ciel's new album 'KISS' in first edition!!!
should i order online or hunt for it?
sihui said that HMV ran out of stock for it . . .
thinking of trying Gramaphone at Cathay@doubyghaut, but i dunno when i will have the time to go and hunt for it . . .
hoooooooooo boyyyyyyyyy................. what shld i do?
*tsk tsk tsk* how much is the shipping cost???
raaaaarrrrrrrrr........... haha.

"Ready, start."
*shiiinnnggggg (metal scratching sound)*
tester: *shocked ("oh my gosh")*
"25cm"
me: "huh? really?"
tester: "you wan to try again?"
me: *siannnnnnn* @_@

my sit-n-reach really CMI.. hahaha.
let me tell you how i fared for today's napfa test..
don't laugh at me, give me some support. haha

stand board jump: 230+cm
pull-up: 7
shuttle run: 10.15sec
sit up: 45
sit-n-reach: 31cm
2.4km run: 14-15min.

gosh!!! so slow! hahah.
honestly for 2.4km i felt quite taunted.
when they started, the guys ran like dunno what.
i felt like i cannot be the last guy!! so i ran faster for the start..
little did i know, i went out of breathe very soon..
and i ended up walking a lot..
it was the first time in my life i felt so many problems when i run.
chest pain, heart pain, breathing suddenly became so smooth and clear that even breathing seems painful and straining.
last few times i ran 4.8km at mac ritchie no such prob..
maybe becos it was just a slow n steady run..
oh well!!! next fri i'm definitely gg again and run a little slower.

i am gg to pass!!!!!!! haha.
i am not gg in to 1st 3 mths!!!!!!

i searched through the box "software" and i can't find the cd for reformatting!!
no recovery cd for my new com??
i didn't think that singtel would be so cheapo to not give a recovery cd . . .

i can't seem to restore my com back to the original factory setting . . .
i can't stop all the stupid pop-ups . . .
i can't completely stop viruses from being downloaded although they get cleaned up immediately after i is downloaded into my com . . .
my live hotmail can't seem to work properly . . .
can't go facebook.com with my internet browsers (IE & Mozilla) . . .
boot-up time takes about 10mins before i can start using my com . . .
IE occasionally lags . . .

all because of that day when i accepted the file that i never thought it was a virus sent through msn.

how how how??

Sunday, October 21, 2007

sian!!
i really shld reformat my com..
ever since the stupid virus incident i keep getting irritating pop-ups even after i used spyware cleaner, antivirus scans, pop-up blockers, firewalls etc.
and always got virus detected..
super sian.........

and i cant go facebook. hahahaha.
i keep getting "incompatible browser".
i try IE 6, IE 7, mozilla.. all cannot!!
must be the stupid virus really making my com go haywire..

i am definitely gg to reformat my com..

stupid virus!
stupid virus writers!! haha.

my workplace is so interesting.
Singapore Visitor's Centre (SVC) at airport hires many guides from singapore's guide association to do the job.
i think it's good, cos they're the best person for the job.
if anybody want's to know about singapore, they're the best person to approach.
soon, i'll be the next best person to approach. hehehe..
but i'm still a noob. LOL.

anw, i realised that many guides are not married!
and they are old alrdy..
the men and ladies are 30-40.
quite sad.
i ask them how come this will happen, they say it's because of the erratic work schedule.
they have to receive tourists and bring them around.
and dun even have time to go dating. haha.

apart from that, for the first time in my life i've gotten to know a trans.
yes . . . trans . . . sex change . . .
he has boobs, wear heels and uses the ladies!
pretty? yea . . .
stunningly pretty.. that's what i would say.. haha.

i really enjoy myself working there.
met so many types of people.
of them all, singaporeans are really the last people you would want to meet.
how dumb can they get?
12am on a weekday and still walk over to our counter asking "MRT close alrdy?"
OBVIOUSLY! weekday leh . . . weekend ask i still can forgive . . . and not even friday night loh . .
haha.

of cos singaporeans are not always the dumb and irritating ones.
the irritating ones are some of the angmohs.
if you think they are superior and know english, i tell you not all know english.
especially those from europe.
today just one female tourist on transit came, ask this ask that, i try my best to explain.
she say "ok, can, can, ok".
in the end she doesnt understand at all.
dun understand say dun understand lah, instead of acting you understand.

europeans are not all that bad.
the worse are japanese and koreans!
just 4 days ago, these korean got strayed from an organised tour for transit passengers.
somehow, he got out of the immigration by himself and came to our counter at the arrival hall.
i try my best to help him but he doesnt understand english and i don't speak korean.
after a while, he came with another korean guy.
he understands a little english, so i thought he's ok and will help the guy.
in the end, i think both of them still got lost in the airport.. haha.
don't understand english say don't understand lah! we can look for people who speaks your language! gosh!

the indians really love to shake their heads.
as i explain to them, they will go "yarh, ok, yarh, ok" and shake their head.
i had to try hard to refrain from laughing.
and then when the next indian came, i shake my head at him asking what he want. haha.

while looking through my itunes, i realised that my hard disk is dominated by christian songs (230+), then comes jrock n jpop (200+), and 100+ others.

its not like i listen to a lot of songs, i'm quite limited to a few bands and lots of their albums.
and even though i have so many songs, i only officially own 4-5 albums. LOL.
so mostly are kopp-ed from adorable friends of mine who are willing to lend me their albums.

l'arc~en~ciel dominates my playlist but i own zero CDs by them. hahaha.

i realised that i listen to very little chinese n english pop.
i find them often them too sad to listen to and most make me feel more depressed.
they often sing about being ditched and broken hearted, as if it is the end of the world.
listless and gloomy, lifeless as if a corpse.
but i am sure that there are songs that are not like that, just that everytime i hear a pop it is always about that. haha.

so sometimes listening to rock i find is more lively and energetic.
maybe i would prefer not to understand what they are singing and enjoy the music arrangement.
therefore, i like jrock n pop.

apart from that, i like jazz too.
it's soothing and so 'chill chill~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~'.
makes you sway with all the weird chords.
aug 5th, dim7, maj7, min7, F#min b5 . . . hahaha.
those are the things i always see when i try to learn a few tricks from youtube, but never ever figure out how to use them.
how dimwitted . . .
i am permenantly posted to the SVCs at changi airport.
there are 4 SVCs in airport, one is T1 arrival hall, T1 transit, T2 arrival, n T2 transit.

transit 1 is the most slack one, hardly anyone comes by to ask anything about singapore.
since then, wikipedia has been my best companion. haha.
the most busy place to work is at arrival 2 n transit 2.
damn busy because of this free city shuttle n tour for transit passengers.
lot's of registration to do.
other than that, i am packing borchures and refilling them, and answering tourists queries.
seriously, i need a more enriching job.
4 months packing brochures!!
but its ok, after 4 mths i'll be the mini-guru on singapore information.
i can close my eyes and point to you on the map where zouk is. LOL.

wed n thurs off day! shoiks!
but fri sat sun morning shift.......... =(
its ok, learn to do opening. haha.

oh Lord, teach me to go through these 4 months with joy.

One's inconvenience may be a blessing to another!

panliang's wedding was on saturday and zhenghua asked me to do logistics for him, reporting time @ 0930.
so i wear shorts & t-shirt & slippers, and brought my shoe & fresh clothes.
it was really inconvenient and troublesome, but it is ok, since i will be doing logistics.
unfortunately, everything was done up alrdy when we reached church.
there seems to be nothing else for us to do.
we wasted our time until 12pm and went to bathe.
can you believe it?
i went to church early in the morning just to wait until 12pm to bathe?
and i brought my clothes, shoes, towel, bathing equipments . . .
i really couldn't believe it.

until night time, we on our way to the station, thomas shoe suddenly gave way and the sole came out.
FYI: he was wearing long sleeve shirt, black pants and leather shoe.
immediately, i lent him my slippers to change into, and as well as my shorts.
it's not exactly short, but ok lah. it's stretchable.
so he changed into them and we carried on to go to PS for dinner.

can you believe it?
God really works in way we cannot see, and He will make a way.
i was grumbling about having to carry so much stuff around, and yet it was for a special purpose.
God has a plan, you may grumble about the process, but when you reach the destination, you will see how He has planned everything to fit so perfectly.

i've been visiting the animals these days: bird park, zoo, night safari.
they are arranged according to the level of excitement and fun. haha.

bird park was alright.
the best thing there is the penguin!
the way they walk is damn cute!
i feel like giving them a ^5 on their flippers! haha.

this one seems to be entertaining itself with the mirror. must be a newcomer. is it mambo?

zoo was better than bird park.
there are more things to see and the otters are very cute as well!
i didn't know that they like to hide their food in order to get more.
such greedy animals.

night safari is the best!
i just got back and i'm very proud of Singapore now.
it's a MUST SEE attraction!
the ambient is very tribal, sets the mood for excitement.
and the tram ride was very enjoyable, non-carnivorous animals roam around freely and you can see them right beside you on the tram!
not only the tram ride, they have trails to be explored.
i've only managed to do the leopard trail today.
very exciting!
it's quite dark, you can't really see much of what is in front of you, surrounded by mother nature and some animals..
there's some element of suspense and thrill, damn cool! i love it!
and we ventured into this enclosure with bats inside.
they are fruit bats, and there is no such thing as a blood-sucking bat.
i came very close to the bats, maybe about 50cm away from it without any glass panels of barriers.
i find it quite cool when they spread their wings and stretch.
they were hanging upside down on the tree branches.
when they start to move and turn back to hang upright, BECAREFUL!
because they are going to take a piss.
bats hang upright and pee anywhere they want, then they hang upside down again.
so they don't pee upside down and drink their own pee. haha.

some bats i caught during the day at the zoo.

overall, it is very different to view the animals at night, and it is a must to walk the trails!

today i visited the Asian Civilisation Museum!
the exhibits were very interesting.
some of the asian statues seem demonic.

this is what the coolies wore, baggy jeans. haha. they say that dragon eyes were painted on the front of the boat as a symbol of strength and direction.
junk boats coolies were transported on.
a coolie quarter.
this is the winning duck from the million dollar duck race. pretty lame. lol.
some snuff bottles.

som javanese alter.

it is said that this is buddha's footprint. this explains for the 7.5cm. but i guess this footprint is just symbolic. haha. not supposed to be exact.

reminds me of the eye of sauron from the Lord of the Rings! haha.

pretty cool, you press a button on the side and this picture lights up!
ACM damn zai!

this statue looks demonic. look carefully behind its ear and you can find another face on it.

this is the 'ma zhu' shrine.
this piece of fabric is hand-knitted.
those who knitted this went blind because it was so fine and strong.

tml bird park!
it'll be my first time going there. haha.
i was never amazed by birds.
i hope i don't get them pooping on me again.
