woah! praise the Lord that Four Seasons emailed me today!
they're arranging for a phone interview this sat.
and i replied them that i am free from 10am-12pm..
guess i'll have to skip jamming on the coming sat..
anw! i'm very excited and nervous about it!
never had a phone interview before.
out of the 8 students who applied for shanghai, only 4 will get in.
i hope i will get in! haha.
if not, it'll be very troublesome to write many resumes and application letter to local companies..
then my holidays will be gone man..... raaaaaaarrrrrrr.........

tml having e-biz test!
gosh.. i havent studied for it..

Dear Lord, grant me the strength and perseverance to finish mugging and remember what i need to remember.. amen!

*Error! System Disk Is Heavily Fragmented*

computers have to be defragmented in order to keep your computer performing at optimum level.
i just defragmented mine. 6000+ fragmented files and my c drive was heavily fragmented.
after defragmenting, my computer performed better.
just in the same way, i guess we have to 'defrag' our lives from point to point to increase our performance.
the fast-paced lifestyle in singapore is just too overwhelming.
a day has passed and gone without you knowing, and a new challenge comes with every new day. it's like they're packaged together.
life everyday too challenging can be very sickening.
we need to set aside time to 'defrag' and reflect our lives.
since school started, it's really been taking a lot of my time and left me gasping for air.
maybe it's the feeling of stress.
i dare say my timetable now is free-er than in yr 2.
but it's a lot of work in between the semester that's killing.

so, my life seems to be very heavily fragmented.
i don't dare to make any promises to go out and have fun.
i don't know why too..
but just the feeling.
i would rather stay at home and do nothing at all, just feel like stoning.
cos it's just a luxury to stay at home and stone sometimes. haha.
anw, rather than staying at home, i might as well be at tues prayer meetings right?
going for prayer meetings is not just about worship and prayer, it's also a time to quieten your mind and soul, 'defrag' and reflect.

feeling the weight man.
haha.
every time friday approaches, i'll be feeling super lethargic.
just this friday, i felt so nua that i slept at 730pm after dinner.
i sat on my bed playing my guitar, combined with the soft yellow lighting in my room.
awww... it felt so cosy nice and warm.
then i couldn't resist the temptation, and i slept.

saturdays seem so dull and quiet all of the sudden.
since the new arrangement for youth cell, there dun seem to be much late night activities anymore.
only my cell grp timing is from 2pm-4pm.
the other 2 are from 7pm-9pm & beyond.
haha. dun really have the numbers to go out.
who's left to go out on sat this week?
only me n junming.
rrrraaaaaaaaahhhhhhh............ quite sian.
everyone just seem too tired.
saturdays are full days in church.
it can be quite taxing.
morning jamming, afternoon serving at teen's service, 4pm 2040 service worship prac, 5pm 2040 service, 7pm cell grp.
haha. tt's the itinerary for the teen's leaders, + who happen to be in the worship team.
maybe tt's the reason why no one's gg out late on sat night.

sunday, guitar lessons seems to get tougher. haha.
memorising the triads from 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th strings can be quite difficult.
some shapes are quite tricky.
or is it just my fingers too retarded?
and we are gg to explore the triads from 1st string right up to the 6th string.
raaaaaaarrrrr.............
hahaha.
today neh rain. i neh fall down.

random:
"ah neh why u take?"
"i neh take i neh take!"

today was a miracle!
during biz enterprise lect today, mr tan officially announced, with no violent objections from the audiences, that reflection for last week and this week's lecture video presentation have been cancelled! Praise the Lord man!
finally this week i can feel less burdened and happier compared to the 1st 3 weeks of school.
i am so glad!

also, interview on tues was very very easy.
the interviewers were not prepared.
we were all so tensed outside before the interview, scratching our heads over what the interviewers will ask, rehearsing our answers to the predicted possible questions etc.
it was so funny.
we ended up chatting with the interviewer more than formerly answering very very tough questions like "convince me why i should let u go overseas."
our questions were "so have u been to overseas alone b4? can cook? the most thing that shocked you the most when u hear from people their experience?" and so on.
not that difficult to answer.. haha.
thank God for that.
i don't know how they're going to assess me, but i pray hard that i pass.

yesterday, while on my way to moses hse to learn guit, it was raining.
i reached the busstop, started to rain.
so i cut across the CC.
then after that, lies a stretch of pavement unsheltered in front of me.
i thought to myself "faster run over, then at least wun be so wet."
so i took my first few steps.
as i was running, my slippers slipped out of my feet and was left behind.
i jam break, then i slip and fall down landing on my butt, guitar drop.
everybody in the kopitiam look at me.
i was so paiseh, like some cool dude holding the guitar, then fall down in the rain like loser. LOL
then i picked up my guit, walked back to my slippers and slowly walk towards the HBD void deck, like some loser.
hahaha.
luckily i only brought back a bruise on my butt, tt's all.

i did my issues presentation today!
it was abt risk and opportunity.
"risk and opportunity comes together" do you agree with this statement? give some examples of how entrepreneurs turned a risk into an opportunity. share some ways to minimise risk and maximise opportunity.
feedback was quite good.. heh.
but on my part, i think it wasnt adequately researched.
i just thought "i just need to emphasize some points, speak slower on the points i want them to note and write down, i bet i will do well alrdy."
so yup.. i guess tt worked.. haha.
my class got what i wanted them to write down.
its abt manipulation man.
anw, i spent 80cents printing a coloured transparency and i got so carried away by my presentation that i forgot to flash it out to illustrate how risk and opportunity comes together.
damn wasted!!!
resulting in mr tan commenting that all the presentations need more creativity.
sianzzzzzzzzzzz
haha.

how sway can i do?
usually i attend psychology lect on mon 6pm-7pm.
but because tml interview and got work to do, i decide to go tml at the same time.
and i attend the psycho lects alone all the time. cos no friends there..
i know huilin and valerie goes on tues.
so i sms-ed them today.
both of them!!!
really!!
both of them attended today lah!! gosh................
how sway can i be?
i destined to attend psycho lect alone. haha
but nvm. attend alone also good.
no need worry abt who to sit with, cos chances are NOBODY will sit beside u.
lol

tomorrow i'm having my OSIP interview.
this will determine whether i get to go shanghai for internship or not.
gosh, i'm so nervous.
but i pray everything will be alright and well!
God will guide me! haha.

Dear Lord,
i commit everything into Your hands.
grant me wisdom and confidence for my interview tml.
i really want to go.
but if i can't go, its ok.
because i believe You have a much more better plan for me than going shanghai! =)
Praise the Lord! haha.
in Jesus name i pray,
AMEN!

people say year 3 timetable is slack.
and will be more slack than in year 1 and 2.
i beg to differ man.

it is stressful.
the timetable is slack for a reason.
just the subject business enterprise, i have 2 reflective journal to complete per week.
it is crazy! it includes short summary of the topic, 3 significant learning issues.
and we MUST have 2-3 questions to ask ourselves regarding the topic discussed.
we have to research them ourselves and answer them.
i understand that this is an excellent way to learn.
but 2 reflective journals a week is crazy.
we have other projects to do as well!

gosh..
and OSIP..
i'm having my interview next tues.
i have to prepare for the interview, come up with ques to ask, and answers to possible ques, research on four seasons etc.
and on mon i have my issues presentation for biz enterprise, submission for e-biz online store proposal..
feeling very pressured.
and tml, i have to send some research stuff to my grp mate by 10pm.
thurs meeting, send our own FILA on e-biz project by sunday night..
hai.
i feel low motivation to do my work.

but i have to press on!
for Christ is my strength!
i believe i can make it!!
go go go wenqi!
haha.

emotions.

guys can be bad at expressing them.
i find myself becoming more and more unwilling to open up this area to others.
it seems to be a vulnerable part.
when you open up, it shows that you are weak.
or perhaps it is just an excuse for being shy about it?

emotions.

especially about your parents.
it is easy to be angry with them and express it out so artistically.
but how about being, or rather expressing, gratitude to them?
i've always found it very hard.
it is not that i am not thankful and don't love them.
but maybe it is because of the way we were brought up and the family culture.
or is it yet another excuse for not expressing?

just yesterday, my relatives were celebrating my grandfather's birthday.
we went to a decent zi cha store at 8 cactus road, called rong ji zu chao.
i very much doubt that my grandfather cared how the food tasted.
he's old, lived for many years.
what mattered most to him was his family.
the family he loved and worked hard for.
seeing everyone coming together and talk and have fun.
seeing that they are still alive and well.
i could really feel from his perspective a pinch of his emotions.
feeling satisfied, mixed with touched and love.
and probably a little sadness at how my grandmother couldn't be there with him.
but ultimately, he knows where he is going after death, and he knows he'll see her again.

now, as i look into the future, i don't know how i will behave.
say in 20 years time, my dad probably would have retired by then.
how will i express my act of love for my parents?
i feel awkward whenever i think of that.
but somehow, it just moved me deep inside.
i see the need, but yet i'm stubborn and passive about it.
i simply refuse to do anything except to just sit here inside my bomb shelter and type away my feelings in this blog.

perhaps it comes with age, this feeling of appreciating your parents.
i couldn't understand what my parents did for me when i was young.
i want what i want. you don't give me, i don't friend you.
haha.
i really liked the examples used in some of the sermons.
they say, fathers express their act of love by buying your favourite food home for you.
they don't know how to say it.
they act it out. they think that that will please you.
maybe you're not please at all. cos 7 times in a week he buys the same thing back for you until you are sick and tired of it.
but well, it is their way of expressing their love for us children.

emotions.

they are so strange.
hard to comprehend why i am acting this way,
choosing to run and hide from it.
but secretly acknowledging it from afar.
it's so bizarre.

i've decided to go OSIP!
and at Shanghai Four Seasons!

it wasnt easy when i made the decision.
i thought about my results, which i think was a major barrier.
but i decided to give it a shot.
no harm trying right?
i have the support of my parents and my friends.
so why not?
i'll just apply first and see what happens.

so, up till now, i've just completed the 1,000 word essay on Shanghai.
have not edited it yet, but will do that again in the afternoon!
tired now!
also, i've completed 500 word essay on why i shld be given a place.
i think tt one is a little crappy.
i'm not sure what to write and pen down, but tt's ok i guess.. hahaha.
i hope it'll be alright.
and my resume!
i think its a little short. and ugly.
havent arranged them nicely.

tml having worship prac.
thank God that the lecture in the morning was cancelled!
can slp in a little and work on the essays and resume and cover letter.
tml is gg to be another long day again..
